Finished up this illo (click to view larger) a couple of months back for the lovely Doris Oberneder of Beobachter magazine. All these were spread over 3 pages (opener/spread/closer) and were created with ink and photoshop.

I had never tried using ink all that much since I am quite in love with tidy tight linework and never felt in total control with ink. Knowing that inking the linework may put me into a downward spiral of disappointment over its quality, I drew the main lines as per normal but with a slightly heavier weight and proceeded to do the fills, textures and other bits with ink (as per the below image post).

edit: I forgot to say what this is about - All the illos are of teenagers ‘first time’ situations. A teen getting their first tattoo, first experience with drinking, with the law, buying their first smartphone and doing military service to name a few.
